Koelbel’s Philanthropy: A Legacy of Giving Back

As the holiday season reminds us of the joy of giving, this is the time of year when Koelbel reaffirms its enduring commitment to philanthropy. As Colorado’s longest-operating family-owned real estate development firm, we have a proud history of balancing our business success with meaningful community contributions. We do this to reflect our core values and adhere to our responsibility to foster growth and opportunity across the state.

The Philosophy Behind Koelbel’s Giving

Koelbel’s philanthropic endeavors are deeply tied to our core values. For us, giving back is more than a corporate duty — it’s our way of life and a way to empower communities and champion causes that promote long-term development. By supporting initiatives that nurture education, accessibility, and individual potential, Koelbel ensures its values align with actions that make a lasting impact.

Supporting Transformative Organizations

Koelbel collaborates with many charitable organizations that reflect our mission to build stronger, more inclusive communities. These partnerships include:

  1. The Rendezvous Foundation: Focused on supporting local organizations, the foundation has contributed over $1.2M to various Grand County needs. Recently, the Rendezvous Foundation contributed a record donation to Fraser Valley Elementary School, underscoring our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and bolstering the communities we work and build in.
  2. Sewall Child Development Center: This organization provides inclusive educational and developmental programs for children of all abilities. The Sewall Center’s Koelbel Building stands as a testament to the company’s support of inclusive spaces that serve children and families.
  3. National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD): Koelbel’s support of NSCD helps fund adaptive sports programs that empower individuals with disabilities, fostering confidence and independence through outdoor recreation.
  4. Rocky Mountain Public Media (RMPM): RMPM is Colorado’s largest statewide member-supported multimedia organization and parent company of Rocky Mountain PBS, KUVO JAZZ, and THE DROP. Koelbel believes a flourishing arts community, cultural diversity, and educational opportunities keep Colorado thriving. That’s why the Koelbel Family Foundation made a charitable capital contribution to support Rocky Mountain Public Media’s new community-focused Buell Public Media Center in Denver’s Arapahoe Square. The Buell Public Media Center, completed in 2020, is home to the Koelbel KUVO JAZZ studio.

We’re proud that our philanthropic efforts can strengthen Colorado’s communities through space preservation, education, and more.

Koelbel’s philanthropic efforts highlight the importance of community engagement, especially during the season of giving.
